Observations from the water park
Posted by Bacon on July 30th, 2013 filed in Broadside moments

We spent the day at the water park, and while we were there I came up with a few observations.

No matter how much weight you have lost, when the time comes to take off your shirt you will wish you had lost five more pounds.

There are lot more tattoos out there than you might think.

It is impossible to look graceful at the bottom of a water slide.

Not as many people are sporting “good tans” as they used to. On the other hand, farmer’s tans are still going strong.

People under 12 or so are there just to enjoy the water.
People 16-29 or so are there just to be seen.
People over 40 are there just hoping they don’t run into someone they know.

If your head is shaved, it is easy to apply sun block.

The dilemma of middle age: Do you hold your stomach in and look like a fool, or relax and let it all hang out? (There is no right answer.)

In my younger days, I longed to be older and wiser. As the years have gone by, I have come to realize that it is better to look at life through the eyes of a child. Those who do have it figured out.

Life can be tough. Sometimes it is best to just enjoy the water.

Your wisdom continues to astound! I have felt the same thing–decided to never go to a water park again!

I live in a part of the country that doesn’t have water parks – I’m almost safe! We do have pools but I lost the urge to go after I did a couple of the semi-annual swims for the PT, never hated water so much before! I would admit that when I ran the 1.5 miles I was always worn out but after the swim I was hurt from head to toe – how is it that your ears hurt after 500 yards in the water?

We have water parks here, but I haven’t visited one. We do have a beautiful beach, with a lot of beautiful people, or those who long to be. Your observations apply no matter where one visits the water.
