Demonstrating these exercises is Army civilian Lauren Pascale, 27, a protocol specialist and competitor in the bikini division of competitive bodybuilding.
“I try to encourage women to get out of the cardio room and pick up weights,” Pascale said in an email. “Women are so afraid of weight training but don’t realize that it is more effective for weight loss and toning than cardio.”
