Marine Corps Marathon transfer program closes Aug. 30
Didn’t get into the sold-out Marine Corps Marathon back in March? Act soon or lose your chance to snag a bib.
The event’s transfer program — which allows registered runners to transfer their bib to someone else for the Oct. 27 race — closes Friday (Aug. 30th).
The process, according to race officials:
“To initiate a transfer, runners currently registered must complete the MCM’s online transfer request form available at www.marinemarathon.com starting June 12. Once the request is processed, the registered runner will receive an email including a unique code, password and hyperlink to the online transfer registration form. The runner will then forward this information to the individual seeking to register.
All transfer requests must be completed by Aug. 30, 2013. Once submitted, the transfer cannot be cancelled. The new runner will complete the transferee form and pay a $30 fee to finalize the transaction. All new runners must complete their registration for the 38th MCM by Sept. 4.”
Each entry can only be transferred once, race officials said.
Transferring runners will not receive a refund from the Marine Corps Marathon, officials said. Instead, it is the responsibility of the runners to settle up for registration costs.
