2013 in review: 2nd most popular post

Our runner up for most popular PT365 post of 2013 once again comes from OFFduty staff writer Jon. R. Anderson (this is three in a row for those of you keeping score at home). This time Jon wrote about — surprise — CrossFit. His story – American Council on Exercise study: CrossFit Works! shot up to 24,815 views during the three weeks it’s been live on the blog.

“You look at the intensity of CrossFit and it’s off the charts,” says lead researcher John P. Porcari, head of the university’s Clinical Exercise Physiology program. While workouts were completed in less than 12 minutes, subjects still burned an average of 115.8 calories while nearly maxing out VO2  measurements and spiking blood lactate to more than three times the average.
