Super-cushion shoe maker Hoka One One’s fall collection will feature a new midsole material (on some models) and two new shoes under $150 — a bargain compared to the company’s much pricier styles.

RMAT —Hoka’s proprietary midsole material — is designed to increase rebound, be more durable and give you better outsole grip.

We’re excited to see if the increased durability extends the lifespan of these somewhat costly kicks.

The blue section of the Mafate Speed is made from the Hoka’s RMAT midsole material.

Also new for fall are the new Huaka ($150, top left) and Clifton ($130) styles. At less than 9oz each, these fast styles will be worth a look come fall. They look and feel like Hokas for people who hate Hokas. We’ll have more on these styles soon.

Out now: On previous models Hoka used a unisex last, but new for spring 2014 will be gender specific lasts, which should improve the fit for women. We got our hands on the updated — and much lighter at 8.8oz — Bondi 3s (right) on the new female-specific last to review. Stay tuned.

Hokas aren’t the only super cushion shoe on the market now. We’re going to try to catch up with some of the other high-cushion brands (Hello, Altra) later in the show.
